satellite cell asymmetric division involved in skeletal muscle regeneration

id: GO:0014716
name: satellite cell asymmetric division involved in skeletal muscle regeneration
namespace: biological_process
type: go
obsolete: False

Description: Satellite cell asymmetric division that occurs during a process in which damaged muscle tissue is being rebuilt. Satellite cells are quiescent cells that are located between the basal lamina and the plasmalemma of the muscle fiber, which are the main contributors to postnatal muscle growth. In adult muscle, satellite cells become activated to divide and differentiate in response to muscle damage.
