Description: The directed movement of silicates into, out of or within a cell, or between cells, by means of some agent such as a transporter or pore. Silicates are the salts of silicic acids, and are usually composed of silicon and oxygen (Si[x]O[y]), one or more metals, and possibly hydrogen. Types of silicate include unisilicates, metasilicates and hydrous silicates.
