Description: A protein complex that contains the TOR (target of rapamycin) serine/threonine kinase and mediates temporal control of cell growth via regulation of translation, transcription, ribosome biogenesis, nutrient transport, and autophagy. In Saccharomyces, the complex contains Kog1p, Lst8p, Tco89p, and either Tor1p or Tor2p; in mammals the complex contains orthologs of the yeast proteins.
