It lies C-terminal to the catalytic core domain, and recognizes and specifically binds to the tRNA anticodon. This family includes bacterial, archaeal, and eukaryotic cytoplasmic members. IleRS catalyzes the transfer of isoleucine to the 3'-end of its tRNA.
