Description: Prophase occurring as part of mitosis. Prophase is the part of nuclear division in which, canonically, chromosomes condense and the two daughter centrioles and their asters migrate toward the poles of the cell. Mitosis is the cell cycle process in which, canonically, the nucleus of a eukaryotic cell divides to produce two daughter nuclei whose chromosome complement is identical to that of the mother cell.
