aerobic ammonia oxidation to nitrite via pyruvic oxime
id: GO:0070275
name: aerobic ammonia oxidation to nitrite via pyruvic oxime
namespace: biological_process
type: go
obsolete: False
Description: The metabolic process in which ammonia (NH3) is oxidized to nitrite (NO2) in the presence of oxygen. Hydroxylamine is produced enzymatically, and, in the presence of pyruvate, forms pyruvic oxime in a spontaneous, non-enzymatic reaction; pyruvic oxime is then converted to nitrite.
